How to build a backwall for my frogs?

im waning to make a more realistic back wall for my frogs. 

i have looked into spray foam but im concerned about it being toxic and not water proof as i want to incorporate a tube up through it to create my own water feature. i would cover it in silicone (needing an aquarium safe option) and spaghnum moss so my plants can grow up it. and also include a few clear nursery pots into the back ground to plant bigger plants into. if spray foam is an adequate option i’d also like to use it to create a pool with a hidden compartment for the pump that’s easily accessible to clean.

I propose thinking very carefully about what materials you'll be using for your back wall. It's like building a terrarium but with flat rocks and pebbles to create a flowing surface for water and a spot for the frogs to sit on. Your worry regarding using expanding foam is very sound, it's best to use natural materials and aquarium safe silicone. Depending on the space available and the budget you've allocated for the project, you can make it as elaborate as you want. 

I've placed a sample image below to give you an idea of how you can lay the rocks to create your water feature and have plants at the back to hide the pump. My best advice is to draw the pump layout first on paper so that you can position the tubes to create that waterfall or river effect. Once you've sorted out the plumbing, the rocks and plants can then enter the next planning stage.
