How to stop sliding doors opening by itself?

I have a small office area where I work from home. It has sliding doors that the family close behind me when they're going to vacuum, cook or make noise. The doors somehow open on their own sometimes. Is there any way to adjust them or is there a magnetic latch to hold them in place?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your sliding doors.

There are a few ways to keep your doors together. First, I suggest using Everhang 10.35kg Pull Latch Magnet Set. You'll need to use a Craftright 8 Piece Spade Bit Set to drill a mounting hole in the doors front to position the magnet in place. Next is using Gainsborough Satin Chrome Connecting Circular Sliding Cavity Door Set. This cavity door lock opens from both sides so the doors can be kept together without locking anyone in. I also suggest having a look at the store's door lock installation service for convenience. Please note that this product can only be purchased from the store's special orders desk.

I think that @EricL magnetic solution is perfect, especially of you use a spade bit to rebate a shallow hole so the magnet doesn't stick out to far.

I like the idea of a few magnets down the door spines 🙂 Ive seen the latch before and it works but dosnt have quite the seemless look and feel about it.

They seem resonably easy to install as well.

I think I'm going to use a different option. I'll attach the magnet to the inside of the door frame and the other half to the door so when the doors close it will latch on.
