How to repair door jamb and fit standard lock?

Hi! I bought a house that comes with electronic locks (long story). I would like to remove the electronic locks, repair the door jamb, and install normal traditional locks. Please refer to the photos below.  What would be the best approach to repair the door jamb to fit a traditional lock?

the vertical height of the electronic lock mechanism is around 120mm.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your door jamb. 

Just to be on the safe side, I suggest engaging the services of an electrician to make sure that the wires leading to the former locks are no longer active and not connected to your mains power supply. Once the wires are made safe you can then begin fixing your door jamb. I suggest getting a piece of timber that can fit into the cut portion and securing it with Selleys liquid nails and screws. Use a sharp timber chisel to to cut the timber patch into shape and level the entire area using Builder's Bog. My best advice is to not use too much activator so that you have time to shape the bog into place.

When the bog fully cures you can sand it down and cut the new hole for the latch receiver of your new door knob. Your final step will be to paint it and install the latch plate to the door jamb.
