How to join curtain rails in the middle?

Looking to join curtain rods together. 

A few months ago I had the curtain rods replaced. Now it appears that there is a gap. Weight on curtains sometimes makes it sag.

I bought a universal bracket connector from spotlight but this didn't work. Any tips?

Just to check, are these two separate curtain tracks that are butted up against each other? If so, there should ideally be a bracket for the left-hand rail positioned close to the join to provide proper support. If that area is unsupported, it would explain the sagging and why the rail might be pulling away from the wall under the weight of the curtains.

The joiner you’ve tried might have been offering some temporary support, but if it’s come loose or isn’t working, that’s likely a sign that more structural reinforcement is needed. Is there a bracket nearby that could be shifted further along toward the join? That could allow the joiner to act more as a cover rather than bearing the load directly.

If you’re able to post a picture of the joiner you're using and the whole current setup, that would be really helpful for the community to offer more specific suggestions.
