How to fix damage to drywall from double sided tape?

My husband and I tried to remove D-Line White Self Adhesive Cable Cover from the wall, it caused the drywall to rip. We then got a heat gun and tried to remove it with that - it caused the drywall to bubble up.  When we finally removed the D-Line White Self Adhesive Cable Cover, but some double sided tape residue was left. We got a solvent and used that on the double sided tape residue but it removed patches of paint on the wall and the skirting. Any advice on how to fix the drywall, tear/rip and paint on the wall as well he skirting ?

Hello @Engelah 

I suggest using a Trojan 50mm Paint Scraper to remove the bubbling paint and those parts that have lifted up. Once the damage paint parts have been removed use a 240grit sandpaper on the damaged section to level the surface. Fill the damaged section with Selleys 180g Spakfilla Rapid Gap Filler - 180g, your goal is to patch the surface with the filler and have it close to the same height as the wall so that you won't have to sand off a great deal. Once the filler cures sand it down flat, then clean the surface in preparation for painting. 

Proceed to the paint counter and ask for a sample pot of white or the colour of your wall and paint over the patched area with a standard paint brush.
