How to build a small laundry cabinet?

Hi,

I want to build a small laundry cabinet around the washing machine and dryer similar to the below, however the laundry sink wont have a cabinet. We are on a very tight budget so happy to forgo the doors also.

What would be the cheapest and easiest materials to use, how to i join to the wall for stability?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your laundry revamp.

The two materials that come to mind are MDF and laminated panels. MDF of course is the cheapest option, but the condition of its use is that it has be primed and painted very well to withstand the heavy moisture generated by the dryer. The white laminated panels are a bit more robust than the MDF in regards to withstanding moisture.

The panels can be anchored with small angle brackets along the edge of the panel. If the cabinets are assembled properly, they can be used to support the centre panel.

Some photos of the area you want and the dimensions would help out with ideas for sure.

But here are some ideas that you can factor in.

Door openings of cabinets (will they bump into anthing)

Water and power service points on the wall, drainage point and where it is and how to connect to it.

Not sure about what you mean with your sink, but depth of sink and drainage under it is something I have misscalculated before.

Heat rising and how it will be mitigated.

All easily worked through, id sketch up roughly first the overall space with measurements, add in the items you want and their dimensions and very soon you will know if the idea in your head is workable.
