How to repair skylight and water-damaged walls?

I have just moved into my new home and notice skylight lifting in wind.

I removed the plastic square flat to find that the internal walls are decaying and have huge holes in them.

What is the best way to repair this?
Can I do myself or best to get trades person?

A warm welcome to the Bunnings workshop community and thank you for your question.

It looks like something you would be entirely capable of repairing yourself.

You would just need to use reflective material, such as this Foilboard Insulation Panel, to reline the skylight.

Remove the screws from the aluminium angles in the corners, remove the old material, cut your foil board to size then refix in place with the same screws.

This will give you a nice reflective surface that will tidy up the look inside your skylight.

Hi @Misha70,

It's relatively easy. Just measure it out, mark the sheet and cut it with a utility knife. You can use a straight edge, such as a piece of timber or a spirit level, to keep your lines nice and straight.

Make sure you wear some gloves and long protective clothing when you are cutting, as there is always a risk of lacerations when working with knives.
