How to add a lock to this exterior gate?

Hi all,

What would be the best way to add a simple lock to this exterior gate? Not sure which type to go for or which would be most suitable. Also not sure how the typical gate latch works but ideally it would conveniently lock on the outside and then from the inside could be pushed open (like your typical front door dead bolt).

I propose looking at the following door locks:

• MagnaLatch Pool Gate Latch Safety Kit with TruClose Hinges - It can technically be locked from the outside, but it is a bit of reach as it has been built for child safety.
   
• D&D Technologies LokkLatch Magnetic Gate Lock - Latch type lock can be locked from both sides.
   
• D&D Technologies Lokklatch Deluxe S3 Gate Latch - Classic bar gate latch can be locked and opened from both sides.

I suggest visiting the store so that you can judge if the locks are suitable for your gate space. I also recommend checking out our Door Lock Installation Service.
