How to fix outdoor gate latch and lock?

Hi there,

I have a side gate that currently doesn’t lock properly. The latch doesn’t hold the gate securely, and there is no spring tension — the gate can be opened regardless of the lock position. Is there a replacement for this type of latch?

I suggest looking at the MagnaLatch Pool Gate Latch Safety Kit with TruClose Hinges. This is a complete kit with locking latch and adjustable self-returning hinges. Your old latch will need to be removed in order for this set to be properly installed on your fence.
