How to hook up a washing machine?

Hi Ross Forbes here I am looking for some advice on hooking up a washing machine, the machine doesn't fit in the space where the old one came out so basically we,re looking at pulling the whole existing bench out and putting in a new sink with a drain outlet for the washing machine which will be kind of expensive so the question is can we put the washing machine on the other side of the wall and put a hole through the wall and run the drain pipe and the water supply hose through the wall if so can we connect the drain hose to the male fitting in the picture and screw the water supply hose onto the outlet with the tap handle

Yes, all those items are available at the store. The Kinetic 2m Grey PVC Washing Machine And Dishwasher Outlet Drain Hose might have one side that is larger, so I suggest getting a Toro 25 x 19mm Barbed Reducing Joiner - Single just to be safe. You'll also need a Toledo 21-38mm Perforated Clamp Hose Fit if you end up using the larger barb joiner. But if you are lucky both sides will be 19mm which will technically make it very convenient.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your washing machine.

On the condition that the inlet and outlet hoses are long enough and can be installed without kinking them, then yes, it is possible to fit them into your existing fittings, I suggest having a quick look at this guide - How to connect a dishwasher. However, please let me know if you require extension hoses and I'll suggest the parts you'll need to link the hoses together.

Hi Eric it's Ross the main concern I have is the outlet hose as its fairly soft and if I try and clamp another piece of pipe over it then I am afraid it will deform and let water out .here's a photo of the pipe. Here also is a photo of the bench and the other side of the wall

Your exit hose technically goes over the nipple of sink trap which prevents it from collapsing. But if you are linking another hose to it, you'll need to use a Toro 19mm Barbed Joiner - Single between the two hoses and clamp each end with a Toledo 14-27mm Perforated Clamp Hose Fit or similar. Under no circumstances are you to join two soft hoses without the joiner in the middle. As for the inlet hose you'll need to use a Kinetic 1.2m Washing Machine/Dishwasher Double Ended Inlet Hose and a Brasshards 20mm Brass Threaded Hexagon Nipple to link the hoses together. Make sure to use FIX-A-TAP 12mm x 8m Blue PTFE Thread Seal Tape on both ends of the brass hex nipple.

Thanks Eric can i get all those things at bunnings? And do they have an extension hose for the outlet so I can join the two together? Also will the free end of the outlet hose fit snugly over the nipple of the sink trap or do I need a rubber grommet for that, sorry to be so pedantic but I want to get all the stuff right the first time
