How to secure Mondella pin lever tap mixer?

I fitted a Mondella pin lever sink mixer in the kitchen sink, fitted as per instructions, but after a couple of days, when moving the spout of the mixer, the lever to turn the water on and off moves with the spout, when it should stay in the one spot, tried tightening the bolt up more, but everything is still turning , can anyone assist

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your tap mixer.

It's likely that the fixing nut under the mixer has not been fully tightened. If your tap mixer uses a nut and post assembly, you'll need to use an IRWIN Mixer Tap Spanner 4 Piece Set. But if it uses a plastic handheld nut, I suggest using a Craftright 250mm Multi Grip Plier. There are other tools that may work but you'll need to tell us what type of fitting your tapware uses.

It has the nut and post, but came with the spanner to do it up, Pulled it back off, tightened everything that could be tightened, put it back on, connected the hoses, looks good for a few days, then everything starts turning again when I move the spout, when the actual tap is suppose to stay in one spot

I can only speculate on the possible causes for the poor attachment of the nut and post. It could be that the hole cut out is just a tad bigger than the half circle washer, I propose adding a 20mm or 25mm washer to give it a bigger clamping footprint. The bottom of the benchtop has been compromised and has become soft, I recommend patching the bottom of the benchtop with a plywood patch and with a smaller hole cut out. Using these proposed solutions your tap should be more secure.
