Guest toilet room makeover using panelling

Pine and Tasmanian Oak were used to create a panelling effect in a powder room makeover.

The project

It was time to update our guest toilet. Had a few inspirations from Pinterest. Decided to try out panelling wall décor. Measured the toilet room size at approximately 1450mm x1200mm. 

Steps

Step 1

We cut the Pine to size. We measured at 750mm high for the horizontal, to sit on top of the tiles. For these we used 31 x 11mm Pine dar with spacing of 270mm all around. The quad 12 x 12mm was used on the outer corner of the wall to give it a round and smooth edge. Then we cut the 66 x 11mm to go all around the top horizontal.

Step 2

We filled, sanded and painted the Pine. We created a feature wall as the bathroom is very small. We used the Dulux Concrete Effect. 

Step 3

Painted the rest of the walls and Pine in Dulux white. Added a floating white shelf 600 x 38 x 235mm.

Finished with accessories and after four days the guest WC was finished.

• White interior paint
• Montgomery floating white shelf.

• Measuring tape
• Drop saw
• Clamps
• Drill 
• Paint brush
• Paint roller and tray.
