Well, that's it. After 5 years battling a heavy workload, COVID, and lack of availability of products and motivation, our bathroom is finally done.

Step 1

I would love to have said that I used no one other than Bunnings but unfortunately Bunnings in New Plymouth is a site purchased off Placemakers and is not really fit for purpose. There are rumours of a new one being built behind where I work but there's nothing official being stated. In fact the official statement is it's not happening so if anyone here knows someone in planning can you please tell them New Plymouth, New Zealand desperately needs a new Bunnings please?
That aside we did use Bunnings a lot where we could.
Step 2
The walls needed painting. We used a Resene paint called "Minus One".
If I'm being honest the bathroom is too white for my liking, but I got vetoed by Mrs Wookie who's clearly watched far too many episodes of "The Block".
The white walls do make the mirror light look amazing

Step 3
The walls are lined with Seratone with their "Wishbone" product. It gives a nice effect but I kind of stuffed up with the cut and the wall opposite the bath is cut in the same direction as the bath wall. It was meant to go opposite to make the pattern flow around the entire wall.
We had already done two walls in order to get the plumbing done. In the end we got a tradie in to do the rest. I kind of wish I had done it because there was a couple of spots that he messed up. It's noticable if you're looking for it but not too bad.
Step 4
This all left the final part which we had completed last week. The flooring.
While a wood look, it's actually ceramic tiles from The Tile Warehouse. I love the look and it didn't take long for my mate to do the work. The perks of knowing a tiler I guess.
I completed the silicon on Friday due to Matariki giving me a day off, although that's not shown in the photos.
We had planned on skirting but Mrs Wookie changed her mind last minute so the tiles aren't finished as nice and butted as is needed, so a fair amount of silicone was needed.
Step 5
All in all the project was more of a nightmare due to the constant changes we ended up doing. I've told Mrs Wookie that when we do the kitchen NOTHING gets done until everything is signed off and all plans are locked in.
For that entire period I will be deleting Instagram, Facebook, and blocking The Block on her phone so she can't get any ideas.
