Steps
Step 1
Measuring out the area and calculating how many gravel stabilisers you will need. The stabilisers lock together like a puzzle and they do not budge. Dump and rake the gravel into the stabilisers leaving a thin layer on top so the gravel doesn’t sink when walking over.
Step 2
The step. Dig slightly below the gravel line - not too low so the gravel doesn’t spread over the step when walking - level out the area and create a border with full bricks.
Step 3
For the inner pattern - with ear muffs and eye protection, cut the bricks into consistent cubes. Place these into the space in a desired pattern, this is where you have the opportunity to play! I had to be aware of how many I bricks I had and filled the space accordingly.
Step 4
Once all bricks are in place, spread pave tight sand over top and brush into the gaps with a stiff broom. Soak the whole step with a garden hose (don’t make puddles) and leave to dry for at least a day, the longer the better. Those bricks won’t be going anywhere!
