How to repair door frame rot?

There was a leak from shower last year which has been resolved. 6 months later, I would like to see whether this door frame can be fixed? It looks as though the previous owner tried to fix it before as I could notice there was a line and color difference in the door frame.

i saw other posts suggesting using timber cuts and builder bog.

I don’t have much tools how can I cut the rotten parts and get a cut timber with similar dimensions?

Can you advise what the measurements of the timber are? Also, is there a profile or is it perfectly rectangular? We'll need the width and depth, don't worry about the height.

Once we can identify a suitable timber to replace it, the process is relatively simple, there are just a few steps to it. The basic process is - cut out the rotted section as square as possible, cut a new piece to fit, fix it in place, then fill any holes or gaps. Finally, paint.

Using a square, mark a cut line above the rotted section. I'd suggest doing it up here as the timber appears to have cracked around this line.

You can then cut along this line using a hand saw. This Craftright 350mm Tenon Saw would work well. You can then pry the timber off the frame using a prybar or chisel.

Once removed, cut a piece of timber to length and attach it where the old one was. You can use Paslode 40 x 2.0mm Bullet Head Nails to fix the new timber in place. You can then use a nail punch to sink the nails below the surface of the timber so they can be covered with Spakfilla.

You can then use No More Gaps to fill the vertical line at the back of the timber.

Once all gaps are covered and nail holes are filled, you can paint the timber to match.

This method will require a minimal amount of tools, but will still give you a good repair.
