How to stop leaks from framed shower door?

I’ve just moved into a new property. The previous owner has “renovated” the bathroom, there are a few issues. One being water is leaking outside the shower and pooling by the outside of the shower door. I think I may need to add a seal or sweep of some sort, but everything I google seems to be for glass doors that aren’t framed. There is no rubber or sealing in the underside of the framed door. I hope that makes sense. Any guidance on this would be so appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your shower.

It's possible that either the bottom part or the door part of your shower use to have a seal of some kind. I suggest having a look at this discussion - How to replace plastic seal in shower frame by @ewb. In the discussion I suggested looking at the Moroday Rubber products as there might be a rubber seal that will fit the gap of aluminium rail. Unless you have a sample of the original seal it will be difficult to identify which one will actually work. The shower seals available at the store are all designed to clip onto semi frameless glass doors and not aluminium framed doors.

I am unsure about what type of seal would be used, however I would take an overall photo of your frame and maybe one or two closer ones in of the curves that are part of the door and head into a shower screen/bathroom place to see if they recognise the brand or model even. Trying to work out how its been put together will show if a seal or a silastic of some kind has been used.

Is the right hand side of the opening raised a little compared to the left? Im not sure from the photo. If it is there could be some form or corrosion also pushing it up.

I doubt you will find an off the shelf deflector, which you are already discovering due to the door glass being framed. This is because the door swings within the opening frame and the has a lip all the way around when the door is closed.

It's possible that the silicone/seal holding the door glass to its frame has deteriorated, and/or sections of the opening frame.

If you were to look edgeways at the door when closed, which of the two images below would be the scenario? It should be "B" . But it its A, then a vertical metal strip will need to be fastened in front along the bottom door opening frame and siliconed to replicate what it would be like.

If you decide you need in person help, a local handyman will be able to fix this and a lot cheaper than a shower screen person.

I might need to get a handyman out as this is all beyond me I think. I think the door is A, there is a gap when the door is closed.
