Our DIY bench seat

We recently completed a project using Kaboodle Kitchen cabinets to create a custom-looking bench seats that perfectly complements our fireplace. By carefully selecting the cabinet sizes and adding a few finishing touches like a custom cushion and trim, we were able to achieve the look and feel of built-in joinery—without the custom price tag. The result is a seamless, stylish nook that not only adds extra seating but also enhances the overall warmth and function of our living space.

Steps

Step 1

1. Measure the space to select the best size Kaboodle cabinets

Step 2

2. Assemble to Kaboodle cabinets

Step 3

3. Painted our raw cabinet doors

Step 4

4. Made custom bench cushion, using some mdf , foam and fabric

5. Added handles and put it together

What a clever use of the Kaboodle drawer cabinetry. I've seen it used in the kitchen, laundry and office, but this is the first time I've seen it used in the living room! The trims and timber accents have made it truly blend in with its surroundings. Your foam seat creativity is fantastic as it fits perfectly with the cabinetry. Overall, an amazing project and a great spot for relaxation.
