How to apply window tint on sliding door with safety stickers?

Hi I would like to apply some window tint to my sliding glass doors. The doors have these stickers  on them which I assume are for safety reasons

They are in the inside of the door

Should I:

a) remove the stickers and apply the tint (and possibly put some new stickers after I have applied the window tint)

b) place the window tint on the outside of the window so not to go over the stickers? The doors lead out to a winter garden.

c) apply the tint over the stickers ?

There are no reasons why we need the stickers currently, no children or pets ever come to the house, but I’m not sure if I’m allowed to remove them??

Any advice would be appreciated

You are correct that these decals are there for safety purposes. They are there to ensure the glass is visible and people don't walk into it. They are a requirement under the National Construction Code Part 8.4 Glazing human impact, specifically part 8.4.7 Visibility of Glazing, so you can't remove them altogether, but you can remove them and replace them.

When it comes to applying window tint, the most effective and visually clean option is to remove the existing stickers, apply the tint directly to the glass, and then reapply new safety decals over the tint afterwards. There are a few options for decals, including White Rectangles Window Safety Decal, Pillar White Stripe Window Safety Decal and White Blocks Window Safety Decal.

This method allows the tint film to adhere properly without obstruction, preventing bubbles or peeling that can occur when it’s applied over uneven surfaces like stickers. New safety decals can be reapplied at eye level once the tint has set, ensuring you remain compliant and maintain safety.
