Hi there, I've recently messed up and been too careless in ripping off two adhesive bathroom hooks and have torn through the paint. I would love some advice on how to go about the repair. I'm thinking: * Sand the area down * Apply Spakfilla (is there anything better?) to the area, sand it down once dried. * Repaint the entire wall with colour matched chip?? Not quite sure what the yellow material is, and if I can just use spackling over it. Not sure if I can get away with just doing a patch of it instead of painting entire wall. Not a very big space so wouldn't take long or too much $$ to paint one entire side. Thanks a bunch lovely people!

The steps you've outlined is perfect, that's exactly what you need to do to repair the damage to your wall. That yellow section you are seeing is either leftover adhesive or the glue residue from the sticker adhesive.

Hey again Eric,

I've just finished with a sand and first coat on the entire wall, and it seems the texture is still standing out. Under bright daylight it is also a little darker too.

I used a roller with quite a smooth finish, so it didn't really introduce any texture.

Should I put on a couple more coats with a rougher nap, and a put on a little thicker? How many coats total?

You've done very well with the repairs. However, you'll notice that the filler is just ever so slightly proud of the surface. I suggest using a Paint Partner Cork Sanding Block - 2 Pack in combination with your sandpaper to get a totally flat finish. Can you still sand it even with the first coat? Yes, just make sure that the paint is totally dry before you sand it. Your goal is to have a smooth surface finish with no edges visible. Clean the surface very well and repaint the surface.
