How to replace external security door latch?

Hi there, 

Long time lurker, first time poster. Thanks to these forums for many a helpful response! 

I've noticed that my external screen sliding door isn't latching and appears to be fractured (where I'm pointing). Is this possible to replace by myself with basic tools? Or as a security door with a key lock, should I get a pro?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your security door latch.

Your lock looks very similar to the Rolltrak Black Sliding Screen Door Lock. If you are feeling adventurous and have the patience to disassemble the lock, I suggest taking the old lock assembly off and comparing it with the Rolltrak set at the store. If they are similar, you should be able to put it back into place.

But should this installation overwhelm you, I suggest checking the stores Door Lock Installation Service for ease of replacement.
