Backyard screen for water tank

I have an old (ugly) tank that feeds my house (so I can’t get rid of it!!). I wanted to screen it. I got a friend to help me dig the holes, cemented in some steel posts, then got some recycled timber palings screwed in. In the voids, I’ve used garden beds and stainless steel stringers to create space for climbing plants.

Steps

Step 1

1. A friend helped me to dig the holes with his ‘dingo’, we then set the steel posts in place with quick set concrete

2. We cut the ekodeck to size with the Ozito saw and fixed to the posts

3. we built the garden beds and filled them with soil and plants that will climb

4. we attached the stainless steel wire to help the plants climb!

5. Thread some solar fairy lights through the rings so it’s a beautiful night feature too!

Thank you very much for sharing your water tank screen project. Your use of steel posts and recycled timber palings is a great way to use materials you have on hand. Once the climbers have established themselves, they will totally hide the tank, and it will be hidden in plain sight.
