How to fix cracked balcony tile grout?

Hi,

Outdoor balcony has gaps between tiles. Looks like grout has disappeared between the tiles.

How to fix this and which products to use?

Does this need to be done by a professional or can do myself?

Does it need to be fixed or can be left as it is?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your tile grout.

If you are removing a certain portion of your grout, I suggest using a DTA Tile Scriber And Grout Remover or a Multi Tool. The grout then needs to be cleaned up before you regrout the tile gap. You can use either a boxed Dunlop 1.5kg Flexible Coloured Grout or a bottled Dunlop 800g Ready-To-Go Coloured Grout in combination with a QEP 6" Handyman Squeegee.

Hi,

Can I just apply the Dunlop grout or need to remove a certain portion of grout?

I was not planning on removing any grout just patching the area in the picture in which the grout has gone.

Would this cause any issues?

Hello @Amy8

My best advice would be to remove any of the old grout that is falling apart or crumbling. Once you've cleared those out you can then fill the gap with the new grout. There is no need to remove all of the grout only the damaged parts.
