A 36 square foot outdoor entertaining area with timber deck and insulated roofing panels for year-round use.
The project
Needed an outdoor space, protected from the elements. Bit of a handyman, so I set out footings and knocked up the framework. Had an engineer to pass off my footings and spacing. Bought 6m x 1m x 100mm insulated roofing panels.
Steps
Step 1
Set out framework.
Step 2
Start to dig out footings.
Step 3
Install bearers and joists.
Step 4
Used joist hangers and a half-checked housing for more strength.
Step 5
Start to install the six roofing panels.
Step 6
Now I had protection to start laying the deck.
Step 7
Deck is finished.
Step 8
Last jobs were staining the deck. Installing the handrails and balustrade; painting the fibro sheets and lining the side rails.
