How to remove this wall tap assembly?

Hi,

Currently have a leaking shower and want to replace the spindle to a 1/4 or 1/2 turn spindle. However I'm unsure @AS to how to remove the cap to access the spindle. No Allen screw in sight even after removing the small handle.

Hopefully someone can shed some light on how to remove it.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your wall top assembly.

You taps appear to be the modern equivalent of a skirted tap handle as seen in this discussion - Solved: How to remove acrylic tap handles? by @hassall147. You'll notice that it does not have any screws or fixing nut to speak of. I suggest applying the same removal technique to your handles. Hold the front steady with one hand and grab on to the lower skirt with the other hand and turn the skirt anti-clockwise while keeping the front steady. If the skirt moves and makes it tighter go in the other direction.

Please note that it may put up a great amount of resistance especially if the handle has a great deal of calcium deposit from the water. If it refuses to budge, I suggest engaging the services of a registered plumber to remove them.
