Ozito router new. Bit not inserting spring back out.
Hello @Stork
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Ozito router.
There are four types of routers in the Ozito range. Can you please tell us which one you have. We can then investigate why your bit is not sitting into the router.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

$99 corded. Burr in the collar.not letting shank in. Small file.
I can only refer you to the router bit installation instructions. The spindle lock button must be depressed in order to turn the collet nut and once the bit has been inserted it must be kept in place while the spindle lock button is pressed again to tighten the collet nut. If after several attempts the router bit will not sit in place, I recommend bringing the tool back along with your docket to the store where you purchased it from and showing the senior tool specialist what is happening. Once the tool specialist has examined the tool, they will make a determination if it is defective and needs to be exchanged.
Hi @Stork
If there is a burr within the collet, don't file it. As @EricL mentioned, just show the tool shop team member the issue. With your receipt for P.O.P. they will exchange the tool.
And as a tip when inserting new cutters, open the collet enough so the shank hits the end. Then lift it a couple of mm before tightening the collect. This will prevent the bit jamming when over-heated.
