How to build timber bed frame?

I’m wanting to build a timber bed frame for my queen sized bed.

I’ve attached some photos and a video of the main inspiration for the bed and would ideally love to replicate using either recycled timber or just timber from Bunnings — I am however quite confused with what timber is suitable for indoor use in either instances, any help on this would be appreciated.

I am going for more of a rustic, raw sort of farmhouse look - not as polished as the inspo bed.

I only have basic tools like a circular saw, drill and a few other things but am willing to purchase whatever tools I need to get the job done. Although I’d love for it to be as simple as possible 😅

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about building a timber bed frame.

I propose using Specrite 2200 x 600 x 26mm Hevea Multi Use Panel in combination with 70x35 untreated pine to create your bed frame. I suggest using Zenith 10G x 40mm Countersunk Rib Head Chipboard Screws - 50 Pack to anchor the timber together. Please allow me some time to draw up a sample sketch of the frame. As soon as I finish the sketch I will post it here.

Thank you for your patience. Here is a sample sketch of your timber bed frame. I still recommend using the same material which is the Specrite 2200 x 600 x 26mm Hevea Multi Use Panel which is perfect for this type of project.
