How to install a wall oven with no cabinetry?

Question

I've just bought a property with no oven. So I purchased a wall oven but was just wondering if a need a cabinet to place it in or not as I've read different options.

As you can see in the images I was thinking of just taking out the frame of the cabinet and place it on that.

Taking out the rear panel there will be 50mm clearance from oven to rear wall. The oven will be on runners about 90mm high so clearance should be fine. If I take out the side panels the will be 25mm space on the left and 40mm space on the right. So if I centre oven the should be around 30mm space either side. The clearance from electric cooktop to top of oven should be 50mm.

Does this sound  feasible?

Thanks for confirming I'm on the right track. I think the gap of 5mm each side threw me off ( the oven is only 550mm wide ). Most have lots of clearance but if the instructions say 5mm that's what I will do. Also only having a small slot at bottom base is not much but again I will follow manual

I am not going nowhere near installing the electrics. I am going to hire a professional sparkie..lol

Hi @SteveDIM,

Looking at the diagram you've uploaded, it seems like you're on the right track. Just ensure the measurements in the diagram match what you have in reality, and you should be good to go.

The other thing you should check is if you require a dedicated appliance plug. Ovens will often require a dedicated 15A power point, so if you don't have one, you will have to speak with an electrician for their assistance in installing one.

Hi JacobZ. Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the reply.

I think I have been to concerned about clearance and sub consciously not reading the instructions properly lol.

Looking at the instructions the only vent hole is at the rear. So the two side panels are 550mm apart. So I need to remove the one on the right, trim a little off and re install it 560 mm apart internal  or maybe just leave them out ?

I need to install a shelf 600mm ( distance from back wall to front of facia ) then cut a vent slot 60mm deep ( original slot is 20mm plus 40mm additional depth = 600) x 460mm wide (50mm from each side )

Install shelf around 70mm high off base.

The electrical cord is going to be hard wired by a spark so I hopefully that can go in the hatched area and go through the wall into a dedicated lead to the fusebox ( we have 3 phase with only the cooktop to that fuse)
