How to treat Buffalo lawn after herbicide?

Hi everyone

I had some what I was told was sir Walter buffalo turf installed last November. I've had some clover and other weeds come through, so I applied some herbicide a week ago. According to their website, the product is suitable for SWB turf. The lawn looks like it's dying, or at least it's discoloured, and the weeds look as strong as ever. Has anyone had experience with this herbicide?

I'm worried that my lawn isn't actually SWB, and that the discolouration is normal. I've attached some photos, and would be very grateful for any advice!

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

I'm about 99% sure your grass is buffalo, so I wouldn't worry on that front. To me, it looks like some minor discolouration, and at this point, I wouldn't be too concerned.

Unfortunately, I am unaware of the specific product you have used, but if it says it is safe for Buffalo grass, then you should be fine, assuming you followed the correct mixing ratio on the packet.

If you had major concerns, I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer of the product for their assistance.

Your lawn looks ok to me, rem its winter and you have also sprayed a weed killer so that could be the answer to the discoloration. I have nuked my footpath in previous years to get rid of weeds (it took out the lawn as well) and both grew back happy as ever lol and shaking my head at the same time. I prefer weeding out the weeds by hand these days. I have spent 4 hrs today with solid weeding with the prongued tool and another 4 hrs earlier in the week. I still have around 2hrs ish of work to go to remove all the cats eyes weeds plus broard leaf ones that I have a large amount in my lawn.

The lawn will come back 🙂 Access in a few months time or this time next year to see if it was worth it.
