How to set Click auto timer?

Hi, I have just purchased a Click digital timer. I have some garden lights set up on the timer. I have programmed the timer and it is all good. The device has 10 pre programable settings. I require to use only two. Winter settings and summer settings. I had thought you can program the times in click, and leave one on the Auto position function and the second program on the off position, allowing me to just change the auto switch between timers at the beginning of each the season.  BUT. I can't find a way to switch the second setting to off while the first remains set to Auto. Does anyone know whether this can be done on the click auto timer? The instructions has no reference to it, so it might not be an available function.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Click auto timer.

I understand exactly what you are trying to do with the Click CLKTS03 digital timer. Unfortunately, with that style of plug-in digital timer, the way the programming works is that all programmed events are stored together, and the “AUTO” function simply follows the entire list of ON and OFF events that are active. You cannot have one program bank running while another is stored but “disabled.” The unit doesn’t support separating or switching between different seasonal schedules with a simple toggle.
 

What this means in practice is that if you want to run your “winter” times, you’ll need to delete or clear your “summer” program entries, and vice-versa. Some people get around this by noting their summer and winter times in a notebook and re-entering them at the change of season, since reprogramming only takes a few minutes.
 

The “AUTO” switch position is only about whether the timer follows its schedule or not. If you move it to “ON” it forces the output on, “OFF” forces the output off, and “AUTO” means it follows all the programmed events that are currently stored. There isn’t a separate “bank” of settings you can toggle between.

As an alternative, I propose looking at the TP-Link Tapo P100 Mini Wi-Fi Smart Plug. It instantly turns connected devices on/off wherever you are through the Tapo app. Set a preset a schedule to automatically manage devices. Create a countdown timer lists for connected electronics. Manage your smart plug with voice commands via Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant. You can also create a custom schedule using the Tapo App for summer and winter. You can then simply switch over to the schedule that you want using the app.
