How to build a side front fence?

Hello Bunnings Workshop community,
I would like to hear ideas on how to build a side fence at the front of the house.

My neighbour doesn't want to share the cost so I am thinking to do it myself, even though I have explained this dividing fence is a joint property.

I researched and found there are couple options:
a. Panels & bolt-downs anchors
b. Drill and cement

The first thing to keep in mind is that since your neighbour isn’t contributing to the cost, you’ll want to carefully consider placement. Even though they don’t want to share expenses, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’d be against the fence being built, even if it ends up slightly on their side. With your wall built right up to the boundary (zero setback), the fence could either come directly off your wall and sit on your driveway, or be positioned right along the line between the two driveways. I'd encourage you to discuss placement with your neighbour before going ahead. If they are opposed to the fence entirely it might need to be constructed on your property and you should reach out to your local council for advice.

For the most solid and long-lasting result, the best option is to cut into the concrete driveway and set posts into the ground with concrete. This gives maximum strength and stability. An alternative is to use post support brackets that are Dynabolted into the existing driveways. This is a quicker and less invasive method, though not quite as strong, so it’s best suited for lighter styles of fencing such as screening or slats.

If you’re aiming for a heavier structure, like solid timber or Colorbond panels, concreting in posts would be the most reliable choice for durability and stability.
