Duracote lifted when painting

Over the weekend I prepared a new Hume external door with Duracote, ready for installation (trimmed, hinges recessed and lock positions drilled). I applied two coats of undercoat to all four edges but not the faces. I was unsure if it needed undercoating since Duracote is advertised as a primer. In any case I decided not to use an undercoat so I started to apply a Taubman gloss acrylic. Immediately after applying the first brush stroke the Duracoat started to lift. The topcoat appeared to dissolve the Duracote. I quickly used moist paper towel to remove the applied paint which resulted in the image below. 

I tested the Duracote were the lock is to be installed with just damp paper towel and this too shows the Duracoat coming off the door.

 
Surely this shouldn’t happen! 

I have since read on this group that the door should be undercoated prior to applying the topcoat but this is not mentioned in the Product Features or Specifications in the Bunnings App or Web page. 

I’m hesitant to apply a water based undercoat in case this too will lift the Duracote. Can anyone advise please?

I apologise for this inconvenience. There appears to be an issue with the coating on the door. Typically, you can paint directly over the Duracote with no problems. In your case, the coating appears to be almost dissolving. I've spoken to the Hume technical team, and this is not something they've seen before. They've requested I send through your images so they can help resolve the situation, and I've CC'd you in on the email.
