Is potting mix that has turned white OK to use?

just opened up a bag of potting mix which has been in the garage for a couple of months and inside is very compacted and white. Still good to use or time for a new bag?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

The white stuff is mycelium, which is like the root system of mushrooms. It's a normal and healthy part of soil structure.

I would simply break up the soil and use it as previously intended.
