My curtain rod has fallen out and left two large holes in the wall. They used to have plugs in them. I think they are called that expand but now the holes are massive.Â
How can I fix this myself? Help needed 🙂Â
Hi @katerhall,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
Are you looking to reinstall the curtain rod? Or simply fill the holes?
If you just want to fill the holes, you can follow the process for small holes shown in How to Fix a Hole in the Wall.
If you are looking to reinstall the curtain rods in the exact same place, then you will have to use the process in How To Repair A Large Hole In Plasterboard as filler compounds do not have the strength to support the weight of your curtain rod. Once the patch has been installed, you can predrill new holes and install new plasterboard anchors to attach your curtain rod to.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
