What panel to apply paint or signage for shopfront?

Need to do some temporary patch work for now to make it decent until we can decide whether to get a full facelift or not for this shopftont. The top area has some glass slats. I need some idea on what kind of flat panel I can cover it with that is weather proof and also easy to paint on or apply any signage if required in future. Also need to do the same for the wall next to next to door. The wall has tiles on it with construction glue applied on something that was stuck by previous shop. Need to be able to put signage over there. Any ideas to keep it easy for now? I have marked the areas in red scribbles.

I'd suggest using Hardieflex, which is a fibre cement sheet product that can be used outdoors. It is flat, relatively easy to install, and it can be painted.

The main issue you will need to overcome is how to attach it, as you can't just stick it to the wall or the aluminium framing around the louvres; it would need to have some kind of framing to attach to.

The answer is usually to attach Steel Battens using suitable fixings for the surface they are being attached to, then attach the Hardieflex to those battens.

With the tiled column, assuming it is concrete beneath, this would be relatively easy to do using Green Wall Plugs and screws.

For the louvred section at the top, you would attach the battens to the aluminium framing using Zenith 8G x 20mm Galvanised Button Head Metal Screws. As you would be working around glass, I will remind you to work with safety always at the forefront of your mind. Ensure you wear gloves, long protective clothing, enclosed shoes and eye protection, as there will always be some risk of the glass shattering.

You need to make sure that the battens are installed no wider than 600mm apart so that you are in line with the recommendations outlined in the Technical Specifications.

You would then screw the Hardieflex to the battens using fibre cement screws.
