How to repair a front door frame?

I need to attach this piece to the door frame of the front door. I will be removing the old nails. What is the best way to securely attach this piece to the door frame? Tools I have. A hammer, reverse ozito drill and my own muscle power. Would rather not buy any new tools. On a budget so just the best way to attach this piece would be great.

Those trim pieces are usually just nailed into place, so it’s a fairly straightforward repair. Once you’ve straightened the nails out and knocked them out of the holes, I’d suggest re-using those same holes and driving new nails through into the wall frame. That way, you’re not making extra holes in the timber. To give it a bit more strength and stop it from working loose again, you can also run a small bead of Liquid Nails behind the trim before fixing it back in position. That combination of adhesive and nails should hold it securely without needing any extra tools.

Will those nails be a bit thick for this particular timber piece? The original nails are quite thin. Does the liquid nails come with an applicator or will I need to purchase an applicator?

You can certainly drop down to Paslode 50 x 2.0mm 100g Bright Steel Bullet Head Nails, @Innov8tive. Ideally, you want to use something similar to what was used previously.

There's Selleys 130g Liquid Nails Fast Grab Strong Adhesive, which is a squeeze tube and doesn't require an applicator. Or the caulking cartridges require a caulking gun.

Thanks for the advice. I think I might go with the nails suggested in your second response. I will grab Selleys Liquid Nails 100 gram as I really only need it for this piece of timber.
