How to build a bathroom vanity cabinet with Kaboodle?

Can I use a Kaboodle cabinet for a wall-hung bathroom vanity? To fit basin in photo, measurements 920mm x 470mm with drop in basin 280mm depth (back to front). If so, would it be a wall or base cabinet?

I only have the porcelain vanity top, I just need a cabinet that fits it, with 2 doors and a shelf.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your vanity.

The outside dimensions of a 900 wide Kaboodle base cabinet are 900w x 860h x 560d without doors. The internal dimensions of the cabinet itself are 860w x 680h x 540d. In theory there should be enough space for your porcelain vanity top to fit. Please note that the front support piece might need to be installed vertically so that you get the maximum space for the top. You'll see this once the cabinet is assembled and you try to do a test fit.

Thank you for your warm welcome and for your prompt reply to my query.

Can you advise whether the 900 base cabinet would be the only option or could a custom-made wall cabinet to the exact dimensions be another? I am well-acquainted with the Kaboodle range of cabinets, having recently installed a Kaboodle kitchen and butler's pantry but finding the correct cabinet for a bathroom vanity is quite a different challenge. I would like the bathroom vanity cabinet to be wall-hung so not too close to the floor.

A wall cabinet, even one custom-made, may not accommodate the standard doors or drawers so these would have to be custom-made as well, which could present a dilemma.

If there were to be a second option with doors or drawers, I would appreciate your advice. I can then choose the correct cabinet with confidence, as I will be installing it myself.

The second option would be to build the cabinet from scratch. I propose using Specrite 2200 x 600 x 26mm Timber Multi Use Pine Panel.

The third option is to explore the wall hanging vanity cabinets available on the Bunnings website. A few examples are the New England Joinery 900mm Dignate Wall Hung Vanity - Cabinet Only and the Mondella 900mm Rococo Wall Hung Vanity - Cabinet Only. My best advice is to double check the vanity size to make sure that your top fits perfectly.

Well I thought that the second example of a wall hung cabinet that @EricL suggested would be the one I liked, Nope. Its the first one 🙂 I actually hadnt considered a floating cabinet for my bathroom (I was thinking along the same lines as you) But really that one really stepped it up a notch. The Floating vanity didnt have the presence for me 🙂

You could modify either version of the shelves, I would just keep in mind the waste location and the taps/isolating taps that may change the way your layout works.
