Upcycled bedroom side tables

Upcycled side tables! We sanded them back, primed, and painted in Bunnings Government Green, adding a clear coat for durability. The handles are Bunnings finds too- spray-painted pink for a pop of colour. We even added a custom shelf from budget timber cut to size in-store. A fun weekend project that gave unwanted tables a fresh new life, all with Bunnings supplies.

Steps

Step 1

1. Remove Laminate – Took off the existing laminate surface.
2. Sand – Used an electric sander to smooth the surface back.
3. Hole - We drilled a circular hole in the back for easy cord access on the shelf.  
4. Prime – Applied Bunnings primer, two coats.
5. Paint – Rolled on Bunnings paint, three coats with an 8 mm roller for an even finish.
6. Add Shelf – Had a shelf cut to size at Bunnings, positioned it where the top drawer was, and screwed it into place.
7. Seal – Finished with a clear coat for protection.
8. Handles – Bought new handles from Bunnings, spray-painted them pink with three coats.
9. Assemble – Attached the handles and reassembled the piece.
