How to remove adhesive after pulling up kitchen tiles?

Hi everyone,

I’ve just finished pulling up the old tiles in my kitchen and now I’m left with a floor covered in stubborn tile adhesive. I need to get it back to a clean, even surface so I can lay a floating floor on top.

What’s the best way to remove the adhesive? Would you recommend using a specific tool (scraper, angle grinder, oscillating multi-tool, etc.) or is there a product/solvent that makes the job easier? I’m trying to figure out the most efficient method without damaging the subfloor.

Appreciate any tips or experiences you can share!

A quick way to remove the old adhesive is to either use an XU1 810W Corded Belt Sander or hire a For Hire: Orbital Floor Sander - 24hr. Since you are only after a level floor there is no need for a polished finish. Removing the old adhesive and achieving a flat level surface should be enough. I suggest starting at 120grit and finishing at 240grit.
