Hi,
I'd like to waterproof concrete outside and I need a clear waterproofer (not one with colour). I'd prefer brush on than spray.
Thanks 🙂
Hi @jenwren,
Are you looking for a waterproofing membrane or a concrete sealer? They are similar, but not exactly the same.
A sealer helps protect the surface by soaking in or forming a thin layer on top, reducing porosity and making it more resistant to rain, stains, and general weathering, though it won’t make the slab completely waterproof. A waterproofing membrane, on the other hand, creates a thicker continuous barrier that blocks water from penetrating altogether, and is generally used to keep water out of specific locations like the seams between a concrete slab and a brick wall.
Is it possible to grab a few more details about the concrete you are hoping to waterproof? Some photos of the space would also certainly help.
Unfortunately, I am not aware of any clear waterproofing membranes.
If you were hoping to seal your concrete, there are a variety of clear concrete sealers, which can be applied by brush or roller.
When you can provide further details, I can certainly assist further.
Let me know what you think.Â

Hi
it was the waterproofing membrane - if there’s no clear option that’s okay.
thanks for your help!
Would you be able to provide a bit more context on your project? Typically, waterproofing membranes are not clear as they are to be entirely covered after application. They are not a finished surface, as things like tiles often cover them. Clear sealers, on the other hand, like Crommelin 15L Water Based Concrete And Paving Sealer, are a finished surface whilst also providing water-repellancy.
