How to bond to concrete base for gate post?

Hi guys , I ran out of Rapidset concrete mix while laying a base for my gate keypad stand . I want to pour more , approx. a further 30 - 40 mm in height / 100 mm square . If I add Bondcrete to the mix will that be the best way to make the two join or should I dig the whole lot out and start again ? Thanks in advance , Ric

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

How deep is the concrete currently? Ultimately, pouring the entire concrete footing as one mass is the best thing you can do, so if digging it up and pouring it again is feasible, it would be the best option.

If not, then applying a bond coat of BondCrete Cement Additive to the existing concrete and including an admix to the new concrete should be fine.
