HI Bunnings,
I have a merbau deck with Cabbots Decking Oil on it which is weathered and due for a sand and stain.
When working with merbau with weathered and lifting decking oil, what increments of sandpaper should I use?
Thanks,
Lee
Hi @Lee777,
You should start with a fairly aggressive grit, such as 40-grit. This aggressive grit will remove the top layer of material, revealing the layer of timber beneath. You should then switch up to a finer grit such as 120-grit to smooth things out and prepare for oil.
Check out How To Sand A Deck for some guidance on the process.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
