How to fix door handle fallen off?

This door handle has fallen off (it was loose when I moved in but now falls off every time it’s used).

can I fix myself removing the two screws for handle base and tightening something at the back, or is it better to just get a pro to come and replace the whole thing?

Your second picture clearly shows the screw holding the handle in place has come off. I propose removing the faceplate off the door and turning it around. You should find the head of the screw right in the middle of the face plate. Put the handle back to its original position and using a Philips screwdriver tighten the screw back into the handle. If successful, re-install the faceplate of the door handle. Please give this suggestion a try and let us know if it fixes the handle in place.
