What grey paving sand is available?

Hi. I have out down a small area of medium grey 20cmsq. pavers. I could only find the yellow tone paving sand in Bunnings and started to sweep it into the gaps. But I really don’t like the light colour between the pavers and would prefer grey paving sand. Is this a possibility?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about paving sand.

I can only suggest having a look at the Easy Mix 20kg Paver Bedding and Screeding Sand and Easy Mix 20kg Paver Bond Polymeric Sand. The polymeric sand is designed to go in between the gaps of pavers and is not very bright in colour. The bedding and screeding sand is a very fine sand but is not bright in colour as well. The only drawback is that I'm not sure how it will perform in between the gaps of the pavers.

Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1 and @Nailbag for their recommendations in regards to the sand.

I’m not aware of Greg sand, but you could you white sand mixed with concrete dust which will grey it. It will also provide a solid connect between pavers once moisture has set in and dried. Plus prevent weeds breaking through the gaps.

Do you have a photo of how big a gap you have between the pavers? It might provide some other thoughts on options of what can be done 🙂

I didnt use sand between my pavers, I used left over 8mm gravel. I had over estimated the gravel I needed and ended up using it under my pavers. It actually turned out well. There is no gap between the squiggly pavers and teh larger square recyled pavers have around a 30mm gap between them that I used more gravel for. One thing it does tho is allow weeds to grow, not sure if they would grow as easy in sand (lifts hands and shrugs)

I like @EricL 's suggestion for the sand as it is closer to your colour.
