The backyard was originally garden beds made up of plants and trees surrounding the lawn. However, at one end of the garden bed was a Tori gate leading into a small Japanese garden. I drew inspiration from this to transform the backyard into an Asian theme. I needed a focal point so I built a gazebo at the opposite end alongside the garden bed which consisted of plants, stone pathways, statues and a bridge that connected to the Tori bridge.
