How to find and install replacement showerhead?

Hello! I'm new to the forum.
We need to replace our existing showerhead – please see the attached photo.
We haven’t been able to find a suitable replacement anywhere. Is there a product at Bunnings that would work without us needing to drill new holes in the tiles?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Rendezvous0211. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about replacing a shower head.

Could you start by letting us know a little more about what’s wrong with your current shower unit? If the issue is just with the showerhead itself, the good news is that it can usually be replaced quite easily. The head should be able to be unscrewed from the existing mount, and we carry a wide range of rain showerheads that can screw directly onto the same fitting.

If the problem is with the actual mounting rail or bracket, that’s a bit different. In that case, we can check whether there’s a replacement system with mounting points that align with your existing holes. There are a few models available that feature adjustable brackets, which can help you avoid filling holes in the tiles. To help us narrow it down, could you please measure the distance between the mounting points on your current rail?

Also, it looks like the handle for your mixer might be missing in the photo. If you could confirm that or let us know more about what’s happening there, we might be able to suggest a suitable replacement for that as well. Once we have those details, we can recommend a compatible product that fits neatly.

Just so you know, although we hope to provide details of a product that mounts in the same locations, it's unlikely that the new rail would have the exact same screw locations, meaning you will have to drill new holes. That's not particularly difficult with a tile drill bit.

Hello @MitchellMc - it was great to hear from you and thanks for your quick response. I should have provided more information — my bad!
The current shower unit has a faulty selector that no longer works, so we can’t switch between the handheld unit and the rain shower. I’ve attached a photo of the section that appears to have a broken internal valve — moving it from vertical to horizontal does nothing.
We had a plumber look at it last year, and they said the shower head would need to be replaced. I’m keen to do it myself, if possible, rather than pay a lot for someone to fix or replace it.

The handle of the mixer came off recently — it looks like the mounting screw has come loose and is lost, so we’ll need a new mixer handle. We’ve been ignoring the shower issue for the past year, but now that the mixer handle has broken, it’s time to look into the whole thing.

The distance between the 2 mounting points is 60cm as shown below.

Hi Sandy,

Unfortunately, as the mixer tap is connected to pressurised plumbing lines, removing and replacing it would be more complex than a simple changeover. It is considered plumbing work that would require a licence. Changing things like seals and washers is fine, but replacing the whole handle is a bit more complex, and with it come additional risks, so it is best left to the professionals.

A plumber will be able to install a new mixer handle, such as this Caroma Luna Bath / Shower Mixer or this Phoenix Aplo Chrome Shower / Wall Mixer.

Similarly, a plumber would be required for the installation of a shower rail.

The measurements for these shower rails go from centre to centre of the mounting points. Is it 60cm from centre to centre?

This Mondella WELS 3 Star 9L/min Chrome Rococo Multifunction Twin Shower appears to be adjustable and is likely an option. Your plumber would be able to confirm the compatibility of other options or move the mounting holes if required.

Unfortunately, there is a fair bit of complexity to this, so it would be best to speak with a plumber for this project.
