How to fix treated Pine to brick wall for gate?

Hi I have to replace an old side gate and I was planning to use treated pine as that was what the old gate was made off. The existing gate and side panel are all ok its just the lintel, the join at the newly replaced fence (which is treated pine) and the post between the side panel and the gate that need replacing. I need to secure the main post 70 x 35mm H3 to the brick side wall and was thinking of using 10 8 x 75mm  tuffcote treated pine screws and nylon plugs, or M6 or M8 75mm hot dipped coach screws and again into nylon pugs (if I did this I would drill a larger hole to have the head flush with the post.) 

I am having problems finding a suitable anchor size and length so any advice on this or my general plan ?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @JohnV110. It's sensational to have you join us and many thanks for your question on securing timber to brick.

I'd recommend you use either Dynabolts or Ankascrews to secure your timber. Four fixings should be enough for a solid hold. As you mentioned, make sure to countersink the heads into the timber so they sit flush with the surface. A 75mm length should be sufficient for this application.

Masonry fixings grip far better than plugs, as plugs have a tendency to pull out in these sorts of applications.
