Steps
Step 1
Plan Plan Plan. You should calculate all lengths, where what will land, how it will look in front, back and side
I even planned how many cuts to make on the large board.
Step 2
Start by assembling the box. Put three framig timber on the bottom for structural integrity. 2 people can comfortably sit on this ottoman. Drill holes for hinges in the top peice.
Step 3
Paint the inside. You can choose to cover it with fabric as well. Put foam, polyester fill (to get a smooth finish) and cloth. Start stapling. There are several videos in you tube on how to get a smooth finish. Install hinges
Step 4
I sewed the sides to create a sleeve. Inserted the sleeve into the box. Took some elbow grease to get a tight fit. Staple top and bottom. Using same fabric, stitched a small handle and stapled it as well. Added gas struts for easy opening and closing.
