How to repair render?

hi,

at our entrance the area of render shown in the pic got damages. I picked up unipro multi purpose filler , trowel and brush.

Will the uni pro multi purpose filler enough to repair.
Will that need to coat or one ?

After drying do we sand and apply paint ?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

Unfortunately, the Unipro Multi-Purpose Filler is an interior product, so it cannot be used outdoors. If you were to use it outdoors, it would crumble within days of the first rain it experiences.

For this repair, you would need to use a cement-based filler such as the Polyfilla Exterior Brick and Render Masonry.

Yes, I tried and they failed , when I cleaned area with water it started to come out.

I have few queries:

is it concrete above stop beading? Then render and finally paint ?

polly exterior brick and render masonry will be sufficient or should I try Earls concremate expanding cement ?

After that will it require render and paint or just paint ?

Hi @visinha04,

It looks like it is just a render applied directly over the brick with paint on top. There won't be any concrete there.

The Polyfilla Exterior Brick and Render Masonry, primer and some paint are the only products you will need. There is no need to apply a separate filler, then render over the top, as the Polyfilla will fulfil both of these purposes.

Start by wetting the existing brick and render, as this will help the filler bond to it, and make sure you press the filler through the bead as you need it to get in behind the bead for it to bond well to the surface. You might need to chip off some of the render on the left so you can get a better bond with the render bead.

Once the filler has dried, spot prime it with some British Paints White 4 In 1 Prep Water Based Primer Sealer Undercoat, then paint over it with an exterior paint.
