How to revive eggplant?

Hello Team,

How much we can trust the information provided by the plant identifier app? I am using one and checked my egg plant and got the information as seen in the attached image. I would like to take your advice whether this is accurate or not, can be followed or not. Two images and info are from the app and one image is of my plant, pictured directly.

Yeah, I'm not confident that the advice it is giving is correct.

It looks to me like a simple case of leaf curl and maybe some crispy edges from leaf burn. I don't even see the brown spots that the app is alluding to. Is there something I'm missing that you can see in person?

Honestly, I think your plant just needs some water. I'd give it a good soaking with some Seasol and then monitor it.

The soil looks very dry. I cannot see any evidence of disease either, so I'd follow Jacob's advice re giving it a good soak and ensuring the soil is kept consistently moist (not wet) so the plant can regain some vigor.

Hello @JacobZ @Noelle - Thanks for your prompt response and advice. As recommended, let me wait for a few more days, I added Season to the plant yesterday.

@Noelle Would you please guide me more on how to keep the soil moist and not wet? Should I add a little amount of water in the mornings and evenings?

To ensure your eggplants have sufficient moisture, water well every 2-3 days when temperatures are up to the mid 20s, ensuring the water you apply soaks into the soil to a depth of 150 - 200mm in a circle about 600mm wide around each plant. That will moisten the soil well without it being constantly wet.

When the daily temperature exceeds 25 degrees, watering may need to be increased to every day to maintain the soil moisture level. Again this will keep the soil moist but not so wet that roots start to rot.

It's best to water early in the morning, so plants have plenty of moisture during the hottest part of the day.

When temperatures are extreme (mid 30s into low 40s), you may also need to water again in the evening but make sure to apply the water directly on to the soil and avoid getting the leaves wet. Water droplets on leaves at this time of the day may encourage the development of fungal diseases that could affect cropping.
