What plants for council verge?

The local council have agreed to fund my proposed Verge upgrade. $500.  See images attached. 

Essentially i am trying to find some small native grasses to put along the road in the narrow garden bed.

This bed wont have any irrigation. So the plants will ned to be reasonable drout tollerant.

I also dont want them growing any higher than 20cm.  I was thinking Lomandra-Little-Con. But before i head to Bunnings, does anyone have any other native suggestions?  Id prefer a more light green, grey look.

For your council verge project, Lomandra ‘Little Con’ is an excellent choice as it meets most of your requirements @KanoLaLa: it’s drought-tolerant, copes well with full sun, has a compact form around 30 cm high, and provides that fresh green look. Since your bed won’t have irrigation, using hardy native plants is key, and adding a few low-growing sedges such as Carex appressa or Ficinia nodosa can introduce subtle texture and a grey-green tone to complement the Lomandra. Planting directly into prepared soil with good drainage and a layer of mulch will help them establish, and spacing them 30–40 cm apart will fill the bed while keeping a tidy, low profile.

Once established, these natives should thrive with minimal care and create a neat, drought-tolerant verge that softens the edge of the street while staying low enough not to interfere with sight lines.
